In 1957 Horace Stoneham took his Giants of New York baseball team and headed west, starting a gold rush with bats and balls rather than pans and mines. But San Francisco already had a team, the Seals of the Pacific Coast League, and West Coast fans did not immediately embrace the newcomers.

The Book: Lawrence In Arabia: War, Deceit, Imperial Folly and the Making of the Modern Middle East Venue. Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club. (20 minutes from my home). 5 to 9 pm – it will be light the whole time. Private room with a view of Mt. Si over the 18th fairway. No cost for the room.
Food. Salad and one of three dinner choices. Cost $25 per, payable to me (It all gets charged to my member account). Nothing fancy, but the food is quite good.
Booze. Order from the bar. State law does not allow us to bring things in. Prices are reasonable. Pay directly.
